Chapter 1
The lightning was what woke her. She had always been terrified of the sudden, bright light that illuminated sky and the loud, thunderous BOOM! That shook the sky.
She huddled in the corner of her bed, pulling the blankets up over her head, trying to block out the din. Sensing her distress, a hand reached out. It reached around her waist, pulling her closer to the warm body behind her. Feeling this unwanted intruder, she lashed out, knocking Hank off the bed. The pug gave a squeal of terror as he went flying across the room, landing on the ground with a loud THUD!
He stood up, shook, and walked out the door. Oh my god. I have the weirdest dog in the World! She thought as she watched him walk his little pompous butt out the door.
Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, she sat up in the bed and reached over to her chair and put her robe on over her sleeping garments. She heard a rustling on the other side of the bed. She looked over and HIM sleeping. There was a look on his face that told her that it was a good dream.
“ I wonder if he’s dreaming about the Captain?” She wondered aloud. Hearing this, he bolted out of bed.
“ What the fuck!!!” He screamed at her. “ If I’ve told you once, I’ve told you a thousand times! I. AM. NOT. GAY!!!!!!!” He huffed, glaring at her from under his bangs.
“ Yeah, riiight.” She rolled her eyes.
“ What did you say!?!”
“ Well, I mean, I heard you moaning; ‘Oh Captain! Stop! Stop! Ohhh.’ You know. Stuff like that.” He blushed at hearing this and muttered something under his breath. “ Huh. What was that? I didn’t hear you.” She teased, leaning towards him.
“ I said, why do you care?”
“ How can I not care!?! You’re supposed to be my husband. I don’t want you to cheat on me with a guy!”
“ Well I’m not goi- wait. Did you just admit it?”
“ Admit what?”
“ That you’re marrying me.”
“ I did not!”
“ Did too!”
“ Not!”
“ Did too!”
“ Well, whatever! There’s still no way in hell I’m marring you!”
“ Why not?”
“ Well, for one: you’re ugly. I mean, come on. Me marrying a Blondie? No way in hell, Heaven or Earth. Two: You’re an annoying, rich-ass, pompous freak that can’t stop talking to yourself.”
“ That it?”
“No. The third one is you’re GAY!”
“ How many times do I have to tell you! I’m not fuckin ga-Creak!!!”
“ What the hell!?!”
“ Oh my god! What was that!”
“ See. You just sounded like a girl!”
“ Did not!”
“ Did too!”
“ Did not!”
“ Did too!”
Creak!!!
“ What the fuck was that!?!”
“ I don’t know. Who even cares? It’s probably just the ship rocking back and forth.”
“Well, I care! I want to know what’s up there.” He started up at the stairs until he started to hear footsteps. “ Never mind. You go.”
“ God, you’re such a girl.” She said as she walked up the steps, rolling her eyes.
When she opened the door, standing in front of her was a huge man. He was at least six feet tall with long, dark brown hair that fell in his eyes. His eyes were a dark, murderous green that seemed to reflect your sins. His body was like a rhino that had turned into a human and developed a deep tan from being in the sun a lot.
“ Umm… Hi.” She stammered. She was even brave enough to give him a little wave.
“ Hrn.” He replied as he dragged her off by the sleeve.
“ Ow. Stop. It hurts.” She gasped as she tried to break free of his strong grip.
It continued like this for about half an hour until they heard a voice shouting,” Ogre! Ogre! Goddamnit! Where the hell are you!”
It was funny because once the huge man heard this he let out a loud,” Over here!” And around the corner came a mirror image of the huge man standing beside her. The only thing that seemed different about him was his eyes. They were a light green that seemed to reflect all the good things about you. He also seemed to have a huge grin plastered on his face, which disappeared when he saw her.
“ Brother! What are you doing!?! Being so ungentle men-like to such a fine lady!” She stared at them in complete and udder shock.
“ Huh? You’re brothers!?!” She blurted out before she could stop herself. They both turned around and stared at her. The light-eyed one shook his head and grinned at her.
“ Twins, actually.” He stated as he stuck his hand out for her to shake. She took his hand cautiously, moving her hand up and down.
“ I’m Teddy and this is Ogre. He’s the older one by three minutes.” He stopped, as if waiting for her to reply. When she realized this she smiled and replied.
“ I’m Isabella Rockena.”
“ Nice to meet you, Ms. Rockena.” He took her hand in his and she blushed.
Seeing this, Ogre took his monstrous hands and pried the two apart.
“ Hey! What was that for?” Teddy glared at his older brother.
“ You were being friendly with the enemy!” He glared back.
“ I was just being nice.”
“ Right.” He rolled his eyes.
“ I was too!”
“ Sure.”
“ Whatever.”
“ Fine.”
“ Fine.”
“ Fine.”
“ Now as I was sayi- Hey, where’d she go?”
“ I thought you were watching her!”
“ I thought you were!”
“ Oh, shit. The Captain’s gonna kill us.”
“ Hurry. We might still be able to find her.”
She crouched behind a couple of barrels she had found and waited until she couldn’t hear their footsteps anymore. She gave a huge sigh of relief when they were finally gone. She had been snuck away while they had been arguing and hid behind the barrels she had found. She stood up and dusted her robe off. She turned around, but before she could move forward she realized that she had ran into something hard, smooth and warm. She could tell he was a guy because of the muscle that showed through his shirt. Before she could look up at his face she was hit hard in the back of her head and then everything went black.
